Participatory projects

Participation has been at the heart of Emily’s practice since she started making projects back in 1995. Participation takes different forms, it might be chatting with the artist, an historian, or a scientist, creating an artwork to add to a giant artwork, taking part in an event, performing in a procession, contributing a story, or running behind a screen to create a fleeting shadow.

The participation makes the work and is the reason for being- to engage with a place and a community.

Projects have been made for The British Museum, Up Projects, Totally Thames, The Bloomsbury Festival amongst others.
