Shadow booth is a workshop that has been enjoyed by adults and children alike. It has travelled to Fling Festival , Chelmsford, The Dalston Curve Garden and many primary schools.
Schools: This workshop is perfect for a wide range of age groups to explore light and shadow within KS1 and 2.
Reception children explored their project on water through creating underwater scenes and picturing themselves amongst fish, seaweed and crabs.
Year 2 children imagined the life of Mary Seacole in the Crimean and created scenes of her ‘British Hotel’.
Year 1 children from school explored making shadows to tell stories. They used costumes and made props, they played with body posture and images on the Overhead projector to created layered images. The project helped them to understand the properties of materials and how shadow is made for the ‘Light’ element of their curriculum studies.
